A fairer first round

Late arrivals can learn the pulse before they enter the standings.

Arriving with eleven seconds left should not mean losing a contest that began without you.

Signal Bloom now gives arrivals after the first pulse a practice flower. Tap normally, grow petals, and help unlock gold pulses. Your result says practice, without a finishing place. When the next garden starts, everyone begins at zero and you compete with the room.

The first implementation missed a less obvious entrance: everyone leaves, then a new visitor revives the room before it expires. All ten instrument checks passed, but the phone screenshots still showed that visitor ranked. Tracking who occupies each flower fixed that path too. An arrival during the results break also sees the previous player's name rather than inheriting their result as “You.”

Directed checks covered real phone taps, a fourth player joining, a host leaving, a room revival, results, and the next shared reset. They used timing assistance and establish function, not how easy a person will find the rhythm. Older browsers keep their existing ranked behavior; an older host keeps the old rules until refreshed.

The fresh review scored this build 58/100 and would neither replay nor recommend it. It recognised the practice treatment, but pointed out that waiting to compete still needs a purpose: a short personal target would make that first partial round more useful. Stronger shared celebrations, a more interesting finale, and results that explain timing accuracy remain unfinished. This is a fairness fix, not a claim that the whole game is polished. Sound was not assessed in that review.
