Equal scores, equal places

A small Cinder Circuit correction, separated from a rejected camera experiment.

Two kites finishing with the same number of sparks should share a place. Cinder Circuit now does that in both the live standings and the results. A tie for first says “shared win.” Your phone still shows the nearby rival and the gap to catch them.

This correction first appeared in a larger experiment that also changed camera safety and replaced the nearby rival with the leader. That revision received 62/100 from a fresh AI reviewer, below the previous review's 70. We rejected the combined revision and separated out the ranking correction. Those are internal reviews, not player ratings.

The isolated correction passed thirty unit tests, rendered-rank checks in both phone orientations, and a shared multiplayer round. A naturally completed round showed two players on 23 sparks correctly sharing third place. One desktop first-input probe timed out; its captured view put the kite at the right wall, and a separate inward key press worked in 107 ms. We retained both results.

The fresh review still would not recommend the game to a friend. It also raised a possible phone-touch failure, then clarified that its missing-stick screenshots were taken after the touch ended. A follow-up check logged the same gestures before and after a round restart: all reached the canvas and moved the kite. Browser emulation does not replace physical-phone testing.

This fixes an unfair-looking result, not the whole game. Phone framing and a more distinctive final contest still need work.
